KTS SKI TRIP Easter 2018

Winter Park, Colorado, USA
( Monday 2nd April–Monday 9th April)

Dear Parent/Guardian

The KTS Ski Trip for Easter 2018 is now open and we plan to go to the resort of Winter Park, Colorado, USA. This is a resort we have been to a couple of times and has proved hugely successful with excellent snow conditions, weather and activities. We will be staying in the “Vintage Hotel”.

The trip is open to all pupils. The cost of the trip will be £1560, which will include all travel, insurance, hotel accommodation, hire of ski equipment, a lift pass, ski lessons all day, and all evening entertainment such as skating, bowling, cinema etc.

If you wish your son/daughter to go on this trip, please complete the reply slip below and return it to Mrs Curtis along with a deposit of £100 by 20th December 2016. Our preferred method of payment is WISEPAY. (If you choose to pay by cheque they should be made payable to the Knights Templar School). Once a place has been allocated on the trip, the deposit becomes non-refundable, unless a replacement can be found.

A second deposit of £300 will be due by 10th February 2017 and then further instalments:

£400 by 26th May 2017
£400 by 10th September 2017
£360 by 20th December 2017

Once I have an idea of the number of students interested in the trip more details will be sent home and an Information Evening will be arranged for parents. The number of places will be limited to 40 pupils, plus 4 staff members. If you wish to speak to me, please feel free to call me at the school. This trip will be on a first come, first served basis, although we reserve the right to withdraw a pupil due to a poor behaviour record

Yours sincerely

Ski Trips

Every year, the school operates a ski trip to a resort in either Europe or North America (on alternate years). These trips mostly go away during the Easter break, but can occasionally go over the February half term. They are led by Mrs Curtiswho is the first contact for these trips.

The trips are open to all pupils in the school from year 7 upwards and notification of the opening of these trips will be given to pupils via a notice at school. This will often be well over a year in advance of the venture and details will appear on the school's website, the school calendar or by notices using the standard mechanisims within school. Places on these trips will be allocated on a 'first-come first-served' basis although a pupil's behaviour and attendance may also be taken into account. These trips are always very popular and are almost always over subscribed to the extent that there will be a reserve list for those who hand in their applications forms later than others.

A meeting for parents will always be held, usually in the autumn term before the trip takes place.
